BIBFRAME Report from the European BIBFRAME Meeting Leif Andresen Royal Danish Library EURIG - Members’ Business Meeting 2019
Why European BIBFRAME Workshop? • The aim of the European BIBFRAME Workshop is to be a forum for sharing knowledge about practice of, production with, and planning of BIBFRAME implementation. • We want to bring together people working in the transition from MARC to Linked Data using the BIBFRAME model and related tools.
Why moving from MARC? • 2000ff user interfaces were made FRBR alike – and moving from cataloguing cards to internet : discovery HAS changed • So: our ”back offices” make something different from what ”front office” need • So format - and rules - shall support modern discovery = need to be entity based
