  29. Capacity building and training -2009-10 & 2010-11, • YASHDA, a state level training institute has arranged training programmes for District Education officers, Superintendents ,Block Education Officers and field functionaries etc. involved in Mid Day Meal Scheme.

  30. Best practices followed in the State • State Govt., has set up a committee under the chairmanship of J.M.Abyankar for recommending changes regarding improvement in implementation of MDM • In Rural area, Rice and other material is supplied to the schools directly by the agencies appointed through tendering process. • Reports of Monitoring Institutions are circulated to District education officers and action about this is in process.

  31. Community Participation • Mid day meal scheme is implemented with full decentralization at village & school level. VEC is fully authorized to implement the Mid-day meal scheme at school level. There is full involvement of PRI Institutions • Municipal Corporation & council at Urban level by Ward Education committee. • They appoint agencies like SHG, MahilaMandal, needy women or NGOs.
