  1. 2013-2014 Program of Work Williamsville East FBLA

What is the Program of Work? • A community service and outreach project developed by NYS FBLA’s state leadership team. • Four committees or categories of work: Community Service, Go Green (environmental cleanup and awareness), FBLA Membership, and FBLA Publicity. • Encourages local FBLA chapters to get involved in the community, promote FBLA, and participate in service competitions against each other.

  3. Chapters doing the most for the Program of Work will win awards and prizes at this year’s State Leadership Conference! Get involved, and make Williamsville East FBLA recognized as an amazing chapter across the state!

  4. What can you do? Members are encouraged to sign up on the Program of Work online form available through WITSmail, Facebook, or email. Sign up for all of the projects and competitions you are interested in participating in! All members that wish to attend the State Leadership Conference must participate in at least 3 events.

  5. Community Service Committee 1. Baby Bucks Competition 2. March [of Dimes] Madness Chapter members record community service hours using a submission form and document service with a picture from each event Our goal: Each member submits at least 5 hours of service between now and February 15th Your service can be through any volunteer organization, including Amherst YES, etc. • Fundraise for national and state FBLA charity, March of Dimes • Chapters compete to raise the most money by deadline of February 15th, 2014 • Our goal: $1000

  6. Go Green Committee 1. Spruce it Up Competition 2. Teaching Green Chapters give a 30-minute presentation on going green to school classes or other community groups Our goal: At least 10 presentations given • FBLA chapters participate in a local clean-up/restoration project or partner with an environmental organization • Our goal: At least 30 hours of service in an environmental project

  7. Membership Committee 1. Race for Recruitment 2. Chapter Charter Chapter that charters or reactivates another chapter qualifies Chapters chartering the most new chapters receive an award at SLC • Members who recruit at least 5 new FBLA members qualify • Member who recruits the most people will receive an award at SLC

  8. Publicity Committee 1. Snap Shot 2. Perfect Press Chapters submit at least 5 articles to the NYS newsletter FBLA Express and are published at least 3 times in local news outlets (school newspaper included!) Our goal: 10 local news articles and 5 Express articles • Chapters submit at least 5 pictures of different events to NYS Facebook or Twitter • Contact our historian, Michelle Dao, with any pictures you want to submit! • Our goal: as many pictures as possible!

  9. President’s Golden Leader Award • Honor that is given to chapters that are highly competitive in the Program of Work • Community Cooperation Award - At least 50% of members must volunteer at least 5 hours for March of Dimes or another charity and submit a picture from each event.WE WOULD LIKE ALL MEMBERS TO DONATE 5 HOURS. • Green Change – At least 4 members create a presentation on a proposed green change at East and pitch their idea to administration or at a Board of Education meeting
