What is Instructional Design? • Lesson plan of a specific objective • Orderly and thoughtfully process of transmitting information for a specific lesson • A design model to implement in you lesson for the learning abilities.
What is an ADDIE model? • Is and Instructional Model used for the effectiveness and a way of training for excellent. • It’s the most important approach of the instructional design. • It analyze and evaluates the learning techniques. • A step by step process for learning • Uses five elements to complete the process
History of ADDIE • Developed in 1975 at Florida State University • First used by the Armed Services, for their training • ADDIE was not use back then but the used SAT and ISD which stands for (system approach to training) (instructional system development)
Analysis Analyze your audience (your past students, your knowledge, your material, and others around you) Define your objective (what are you expectations) Be realistic Design Design an orderly lesson (Outline, lesson plan) Create prototype Instructional methods (video, discussion board, power point presentation, ect) Graphics Elements of the ADDIE model
Development Gather information from the Analysis and the Design to complete the blueprint Your final copy of the process and graphics Performance of the solution Implementation Produce program materials (What sources are needed) The lesson plan or design plan is in action Elements of the ADDIE model
Elements of the ADDIE model • Evaluation • Evaluation is broken into two areas: • Formative Evaluation • Is present in each phase of the ADDIE process • Summative Evaluation • Tests that are planned for specific areas that are associated with the subject and providing any kind of feedback for the user.
Evaluation • Feedback • Allows the user to understand the mistakes • Allows the user to know what it is expected • Allows the user to communicate with the producer • The most important part for me as a producer • Experience for the producer and user
Summary • ADDIE is a step by step process in planning and creating training programs with a framework to make sure that their instructional products are effective and their process are as efficient as they can possible be. ADDIE is part of all the Instructional Design Method which save you time and money by fixing problems while still fixable.
