  5. IPGA Contests • Indiana State Fair (GPC). August 14th, Indiana Fairgrounds, Indianapolis. • Hensler’sNursery Weigh-in (GPC). Sunday September 25th, Hamlet. (Not Confirmed) • Gatewood’sVegetable Farm Weigh off (GPC). October 2nd, Noblesville. • Pennville’sFall Jubillee Weigh off. October 16th, Pennville. (Not Confirmed)

  6. IPGA Financial Update • $4300 Raised from the Bigpumpkins.com auction • Only 1 non payer this year • Current Balance $5,200 • ‘09 Major Expenses(Prizes +GPC+BP) $3660

  7. Nominations/Elections • Current Officers • President – Bruce Gatewood • Vice President – Vacant • Treasurer – Pat Hansen • Secretary – Mikkal Hodge (elected in ‘09) • Site Coordinator – Kelly Klinker

Advisory Committee • The purpose of the Advisory Committee is to assist the Executive Board (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Site Coordinator) with operating the Indiana Pumpkin Growers Association. • The Advisory Committee can pass ideas or suggestions on to the Executive Board and after the Board has made a decision, we ask the Committee to expand on it. • Most growers do not have the time or resources to be a member on the Executive Board. However, many growers have excellent ideas of how to improve the club. This where the Advisory Committee comes in.

  9. Advisory Committee 2 • How many positions should be on the Advisory Committee? • 1. Contest – • My nomination: The ENTIRE Barenie Family. John, Judy, Mervyn and Rita, you guys must be the most dedicated family to growing pumpkins in the world. The four of you have more contest experience than any pumpkin club has existence. • 2. Financial- • My nomination: Tom Beachy. Tom has a great business background and could help the IPGA save on some expenses and find new ways to get every dollar out of your membership dues. • 3. Marketing- • My nomination: Roger and Phyllis Howard. They have assisted the IPGA, not only physical work at the contests, but ideas of how to better run our auctions and save money on expenses.

Kelly’s ‘09 Seeds to get/grow • 1. 734 daho (992 glasier x 1180 pukos) pollinator produced 1611 daho. 734 was 18% heavy. • 2. 1421 Stelts (1385 Jutras x 904 Stelts) pollinator produced 1662 and was very orange 10% heavy. 1421 was 12% heavy • 3. 1134 Stelts (985 Werner x 904 Stelts) pollinator produced 1662 and was very orange 10% heavy. 1134 was 1% heavy • 4. 1333 Young (1483 Werner x 1288 Wallace) pollinator produced 1658 and was 9% heavy. 1333 was 3% heavy. • 5. 948 Young (1385 Jutras x 1207 Young) pollinator produced 1622 and was % heavy. 948 was 3.5% heavy • 6. 1103 Liggett (1459 Sundstrom x 1375 Liggett) pollinator produced 1636 and was 11 % light. 1103 was 1% heavy • 7. 1544 Revier (1385 Jutras x 1161 Rodonis) pollinator produced 1579 and was on chart. 1544 was 3% heavy. • 8. 1113 Stevens (985 Werner x 1140 Stevens) pollinator produced 1543 and was 5% heavy . 1113 was 8% heavy.

Kelly’s ‘09 Seeds to get/grow 2 • 9. 1278 Holland (1092 Martin x 1385 Jutras) pollinator produced 1505 and was on chart. 1278 was 2 % heavy. • 10. 1466 Neptune (1521 Werner x 1556 Werner) pollinator produced 1503. • 11. 1503 Neptune (1556 Werne x 1521 Werner) pollinator produced 1466. • 12. 1303 Sweet (1161 Rodonis x 1413 Werner) pollinator produced 1483 and was on chart . 1303 was 6% light. • 13. 1078 Marsh (1252 Marsh x 1161 Rodonis) pollinator produced 1488 and was 12% heavy . 1078 was 9% heavy. • 14. 1236 Harp (998 Pukos x 1385 Jutras) pollinator was WR 1725 and was 2 % heavy. 1236 was 7 % heavy. • 15. 1316 Harp(985 Werner x 1385 Jutras) pollinator was WR 1725 and was 2 % heavy. 1316 was x 2% Light. • 16. 1253 McMullen (991 Urena X 1119 McMullen) The 1253 was 4% Heavy, Pollinator grew Gene's 1544 • 17.1462.5 Starr (1528 Starr X 985 Werner) The 1462.5 was 14.5 % Heavy, the pollinating 985 grew Thad's 1301 which was 18% Heavy.
