  2. CCP Pathways • Career Technical Education Pathways (CTE) • Earn a certificate towards completion of AAS degree or entry level position in technical field • College Transfer Pathways (CT) • Earn college credits for transfer to 4-year University (students must complete 44-hour core)

  3. CTE Pathway Eligibility • Junior or Senior as of January 1, 2012 • 3.0 (“B”) average in high school courses OR principal’s recommendation • Maintain a 2.0 (“C”) average in college courses after 2 completed courses • Grandfathered if C or higher in college courses in Fall 2011 • All pathway prerequisites met, continue toward H.S. completion

CTE Pathways at HCC • Automotive Systems Technology • Automotive Systems Technology - Advanced Servicing • Collision Repair and Refinishing Technology • Computer-Integrated Machining • Computer-Integrated Machining – Advanced • Criminal Justice Technology • Criminal Justice Technology – Investigations • Early Childhood Education *Students may only enroll in one CTE pathway. CTE Pathway changes can be made with approval of principal and HCC’s chief student development administrator.

  5. CT Pathway Eligibility • Junior or Senior as of January 1, 2012 • 3.0 (“B”) average in high school courses • Demonstrate college readiness in English, reading and mathematics on an approved assessment or placement test

  6. College Diagnostic Benchmarks *To be eligible for enrollment in a College Transfer Pathway, students must demonstrate college readiness in English, reading and mathematics on an approved test. **PLAN and PSAT scores recommended by ACT and College Board as indicators of college readiness.

CT Pathways at HCC • Humanities and Social Science Pathway • Business and Economics Pathway • Life and Health Sciences Pathway • Engineering and Mathematics Pathway *Students may only enroll in one CT pathway. CT Pathway changes can be made with approval of principal and HCC’s chief student development administrator. A student may enroll in both a CT Pathway program of study and a CTE program of study with approval of principal and HCC’s chief student development administrator.

Campus Policies • No drugs, alcohol, or weapons are allowed on campus. • HCC is a tobacco free campus – no use allowed • Academic dishonesty - All cases will be given a zero for the grade, possibly an “F” for the course and/or expulsion from HCC. • Parking – Pass required, park in designated areas, give yourself time • Attendance – After 15% of course is missed, students must withdraw or appeal. This applies in online classes too! • Review the Student Handbook for all HCC policies

  20. The first day of class • Spring semester begins January 9, 8 a.m. • Give yourself plenty of time • Hint: Park in upper lot behind student services (1500 building) • Don’t be afraid to ask • Review your course syllabus, keep it where you can find it • Be prepared to begin coursework

  21. Throughout the semester • Manage your time • Expect 3 hours of studying/work for every hour in class • Use available resources to improve success (TLC, office hours, library) • Communicate with your instructors • You must notify your instructor if you wish to withdraw
