Background • The Brahmaputra River Is also known as Tsangpo-Brahmaputra • It is a trans-boundary river and one of the major rivers of Asia
The Brahmaputra River Is located in Asia. It flows southwest through the Assam Valley as Brahmaputra and south through Bangladesh as the Jamuna. There it merges with the Ganges to form a vast delta. About 1,800 miles (2,900 km) long, the river is an important source for irrigation and transportation
How old is the River? This river is 1,800 miles long, the average depth of the river is 124 feet and the maximum is 380 feet. The speed of the river is 103.58m and the water fall elevation is 102.11m. Human has information for it dating back to the Tista flood in 1787
Is the River young or old? The Brahmaputra River is a very old river. We know this because of how long and deep the river is. The tributaries of this river are extreme which we found out in the last slide.
