Overview of Long Range Plans Goals for next two hours: • Overview of the Process – Year Long Framework in School Planning • Identify some tools to assist in LRP • Review the Process of LRP • Steps in the Planning of Units • Designing the unit: Diagram • Complete a LRP on an attached template: 1 Term for a subject: SS

  3. Student Activity • Work in groups of 4-5 • Discuss what you think Unit Plans are and what Long Range Plans (LRP) are. Put on flip chart paper in two T-Charts (K-W) • PPT Presentation: Ontario teachers • Websites: OCUP.ORG and http://www.thecanadianteacher.com/tools2/ontario/ontariolrp7.php

Student Activity • Use the computer lab.....utilize a LRP template for a subject with: • Teacher, Subject, Grade, Term/Time Period/Month • Program Summary • Content • Teaching and Learning Strategies • Program Modifications • Assessment/Evaluations • Resources • Overall and Specific expectations • Print and hand in a template for Social Studies for 1 Term • Back in Classroom complete T-Charts in groups.
