Company Vehicles Electric Our Company can have either one of these vehicles ready for you Mr. Z, the question is, is which one do you want sir? Before You choose, here are some facts about each car and our company. Diesel $1,450,000 $1,500,000
Electric • As you saw on the first slide, our Company already uses electric powered trucks as our • delivery trucks. Electric cars have the potential of significantly reducing pollution • by having no tail pipe emissions. • The price of the electric truck is less than $150,000 • The battery cassette in an eStar can be swapped out in 20 minutes – much like a gigantic cell • phone – returning the vehicle to the road for another 100 miles. • Electric cars are expected to have a major impact in the auto industry, less dependence • on oil, and expected rise in gasoline prices. • Electric Cars use the energy stored in a battery (or series of batteries) for vehicle propulsion. • Electric motors provide a clean and safe alternative to the internal combustion engine. • There are many pros and cons about electric cars. The electric vehicle is known to have • faster acceleration but shorter distance range than conventional engines. • It gets a range of about 130 miles, on a full battery, that is enough miles for 3-4 days • without recharging the battery.
Diesel • Some chemical characteristics and natural impurities in diesel fuel can affect exhaust • emissions from diesel engines, can damage or impede the operation of emission control • devices, and can increase secondary pollutant formation in the atmosphere. • If you have ever compared diesel fuel and gasoline, you know that they are different. • They certainly smell different. Diesel fuel is heavier and oilier. Diesel fuel evaporates much more slowly than gasoline its boiling point is actually higher than the boiling point of water. • Diesel fuel at its best gets about 50mpg in the city and around 48mpg on highway. • Diesel fuel is used to power a wide variety of vehicles and operations. It of course fuels • the diesel trucks you see lumbering down the highway, but it also helps move boats, • school buses, city buses, trains, cranes, farming equipment and various emergency response vehicles and power generators. Think about how important diesel is to the economy--without its high efficiency, both the construction industry and farming businesses would suffer immensely from investments in fuels with low power and efficiency.
