Who are we? • We are the Student Undergraduate Research Society! • We specialize in promoting awareness and participation in undergraduate research by educating you about the benefits and opportunities available to you at UCF. • OKAY... so what do we really do?
What we do: • We help you initially get involve in research and provide a network of people that will be available to help you take the first few steps. • We connect you with current undergraduate researchers in various fields of research! • We connect you with the directors of the various research programs available to you at UCF. • We get you involved in volunteering for research! • We travel to the Florida Undergraduate Research Conference. (usually free of charge to SURS members)
Why join surs? • Great discounts on Kaplan courses! • Members get $100 off! • FREEKAPLAN course to most active member at the end of the semester • (Can be used for any KAPLAN practice course) • See current undergraduate research projects and get to speak to the researchers on their experiences at UCF. • Get to know other UCF students who are just beginning to get involved into research, take the journey together!

Dues • Dues are $10 per semester. • You may attend one meeting prior to paying dues, however before attending anymore meetings you will need to pay your dues. • Dues will be used to pay for T-shirts, meeting refreshments, and to help fund our activities throughout the semester.

Volunteer 5K Sign-up • Saturday, February 11th • 6:30am - 11:30am • This 5K is raising money for brain tumor research. • We will be directing runners, handing out water, and helping with registration • Please Sign-up on the sign up sheet if you wish to participate! • (4 points will be added for attending)

Tabling • We table outside of the student union every wednesday, if interested in earning some extra points schedule a time when you would be able to help! • Every Wednesday from 10am - 2pm • Like to get creative? • See me after about helping to create an official SURS Poster for tabling!
Can’t attend a meeting? • NO PROBLEM, Our meeting powerpoint will be posted on the SURS website after our meetings, so you wont miss a thing! • BUT REMEMBER, attendance is taken every meeting (and special events) if you don’t attend you don’t get points towards the freeKaplancertificate at the end of the semester!
Next Meeting: • Alie Valentino will be presenting on Kaplan’s prep courses and what discounts and opportunities they offer to SURS Members! • Undergraduate Researcher Patrisha Reynolds will presenting her research in the field of Anthropology as well as her experiences as an undergraduate researcher at UCF.
