Handouts • Student Information • Drug Screening • Code of Conduct • All are due on Thursday, May 28th at the beginning of the meeting OR you cannot participate!
President • Qualifications: • Must be a Senior • Must have been a member for AT LEAST 2 years • Must be able to attend ALL meetings in coordination with Vice President
President • Responsibilities: • Prepare mandatory agendas and post on the blog the previous Monday • Collaborate with Secretaries and Advisors to make sure members are fulfilling duties • Be available for School Board Meetings under an emergency situation • Must attend ALL sponsored activities in coordination with Vice President • Responsible for posting items to the blog
Vice President • Qualifications: • Must be a Junior • Must have been a member for AT LEAST 1 year • Must be able to attend ALL meetings in coordination with President
Vice President • Responsibilities: • Assume President’s responsibilities during absence • Must attend ALL sponsored activities in coordination with President • Serve an automatic two-year term (if no violations occurred) and assume responsibilities of President • Responsible to posting items to the blog
Senior Secretary • Jenn Stumpf • Responsibilities: • Record minutes during all meetings in coordination with Junior Secretary • Post typed minutes to blog no later than 2 days after each meeting • Responsible to post other items to the blog • Prepare a list of members names and addresses • Serve as mentor to Junior secretary to prepare for senior year
Junior Secretary • Qualifications: • Must be a Junior • Must have been a member for AT LEAST 1 year • Must be able to attend ALL meetings in coordination with Senior Secretary
Junior Secretary Responsibilities: • Assume Secretary responsibilities during absence • Record attendance for all meetings and report violations to President and Advisors • Record attendance for all activities and report violations to the President and Advisors • Serve an automatic two-year term (if no violations occurred) and assume responsibilities of Senior Secretary
Treasurer • Qualifications: • Must be a Senior or Junior • Must have been a member for AT LEAST 1 year
Treasurer • Responsibilities: • Must report weekly to update ledger • Must be available within two days of events to count money • Sign for all council expenditures (except scholarships) • Develop new ideas for fundraisers for our club that will benefit the school • This position is NOT an automatic two-year term for Juniors.
Junior School Board • Qualifications: • Must be a Junior • Must have been a member for AT LEAST 1 year • Must have own transportation to and from School Board Meetings
Junior School Board • Responsibilities: • Attend all Penn Manor School Board Meetings (usually second Monday of each month, sometimes the first) • Submit a typed report for approval to advisors the previous Thursday • Express the concerns/comments of the student body to the Board • Report the School Board activities and concerns to the Student Council • Serve an automatic two-year term (if no violations occurred)
Historian • Qualifications: • Must be a Senior or a Junior • Must have been a member for AT LEAST 1 year
Historian • Responsibilities: • Must be able to attend ALL sponsored events or delegate responsibilities to someone attending • Responsible for taking pictures at events • Maintain a portfolio (scrapbook, photo album, or photo box) of council activities • Responsible for the showcase outside the Library • Advertisements must be posted at least 1 week before the event • Display must be updated within 1 week after each student council sponsored activity • This position is NOT an automatic two-year term for Juniors.
If you are interested in running for an officer position . . . Please contact Mrs. Good BEFORE Wednesday, May 27th. After this meeting would be good ;)
Everyone’s Responsibility • Attend all Mandatory meetings • Second week of every month (may be moved!) • Miss one -- warning • Miss two – removed from council • Attend all meetings regarding committee • Attend and participate AT LEAST two sponsored activities per semester • Report activity to Junior Secretary • Maintain a positive discipline and attendance with policies established by Penn Manor High School and sign/abide by the Code of Conduct
Committees • Everyone must serve on AT LEAST 2 committees throughout the year • It is YOUR responsibility to check the blog to know when your committee is meeting! http://blogs.pennmanor.net/hsstudentcouncil/
Committee Chairs • Every committee will need a chair • Member can be of any grade BUT must have been a member the previous year • You are responsible for planning, organizing and running the activity and meetings, reporting needs to the advisors and reporting during the mandatory meetings. • This is a great chance to show your leadership skills!
Welcoming 10 • Summer Meetings are required! • Participate with Freshman orientation on August 13th at 9:00am and 6:30 pm • Decorate the school for the first day • Attend Parents Night in Fall and Spring (Thursday night from 630 until 900pm) • Participate in Middle School Tours in May
Tailgating 14 • Summer Meetings are required! • Plan and organize for October party • Dunk tank, Face painting, games, raffles, Pie Eating contest, Band and food • Proceeds will go to the Jeff Churchill Memorial Award
Fundraising -- 6 Chaired by Treasurer • Throughout the year • Dress down days (fall and spring) • Donations to a good cause • Matchmaker (winter) • Proceeds for Teacher Appreciation week • Raffle for ETPM (Spring) • Proceeds for Senior Scholarship
Holiday Party 12 • October through December • To plan and organize a party for the Learning support / Life skills class for Elementary • Snacks, reading, games, singing and crafts
Giving Tree 10 • October though December • To help less fortunate families in Penn Manor during Christmas • To plan and organize and decorate the tree and delivery
ETPM 10 • Only those helping with STAGE CREW can sign up for this committee • Wednesday 6-8 pm throughout March and April • You will also help with auditions and the assembly • Will count as 2 activities in the spring semester • Proceeds go to Reeder Duke Scholarship
Teacher Appreciation 8 • March through May • To plan and organize Teacher Appreciation week in May • Usually something everyday • Teacher Grammies!!!!!
School Environment 10 • Cleanliness • School Spirit • Collection of non-food items for community

You will also be ineligible to run for an office or for Chair Committee! • Voting for Officers • Signing up for Committees and Chairs
