  1. Manage Your Time Well Presented by Annie Jones, TRiO

  2. Don’t Overextend Yourself • Be realistic in expectations of yourself • If it seems like too much, it probably is • Make changes as necessary to make your life more manageable

  3. Being organized… • saves time in the long-run • takes the guess work out of what you have to accomplish • requires a day planner or calendar to keep track of deadlines & assignments

  4. Schedule Blocks of Time for Studying • Not too much, not too little • Focus, focus, focus • Schedule study blocks like a standing appointment that you must keep

  5. Make Efficient Use of Your Time • How would you like to use your time for school, home, work, leisure? • Prioritize and schedule - use that planner or calendar • Be efficient with your time • Combine tasks -> laundry + reading • Don’t waste “chunks of time”

  6. Learn To Say “No” • You are human and you have limits • Too much on your plate can distract you from academics • Honoring your own limits is not selfish or rude

  7. Make “To Do” Lists and Prioritize • Free up your head space -- get it all down on paper • Re-order the list by priority • Cross off things you’ve done -- it’s VERY rewarding to see that you’re making progress!

  8. Remember, we’re here to support you… • Meet with or talk to your TRiO counselor at least once each month during the semester • Talk to one of us before you’re overwhelmed • Academics • Personal life
