  1. Bureau of Fire Services Consumer Fireworks and Low Impact Accela Account Creation and Application Process and Safety Fees

  2. Bureau of Fire Services • To get started, you will need to access the Bureau of Fire Services webpage at www.michigan.gov/bfs

  3. Bureau of Fire Services In the menu on the left hand side click on “Fireworks”.

  4. Bureau of Fire Services • The Fireworks Program page has 3 links to take you to the Account Creation screen.

  5. Bureau of Fire Services The links from the previous screen will all take you to the Account Registration.

  6. Bureau of Fire Services • The “Account Registration” screen opens • Please read all information • Click in the check box to accept terms. • Click on “Continue Registration”

  7. Bureau of Fire Services • Here you will now start to enter your account information. (First half of the page showing) • Set up a User Name for the account • Please list your email address where the Certificate, once issued, will be emailed as well as communications from BFS. • Set up your password and then confirm it • Make up your own Security Question and answer • NOTE: The circles with the question marks are help links with information to assist with the field you are trying to enter information. You will find these types of “help” icons throughout the system. • ALL INFORMATION ENTERED HERE WILL REFLECT THE CERTIFICATE OWNER OR LOW IMPACT REGISTRANT INFORMATION.

  8. Bureau of Fire Services • Enter a phone number we can use if we need to contact you. • The contact listed here is who we would need to contact regarding any issues about the account, not necessarily about an application. • Click on “Add New Contact”

  9. Bureau of Fire Services • When creating new Contacts do so after you have logged into the existing account and do so in “Account Management”

Bureau of Fire Services • Selecting the Contact Type: • When setting up the account please use “Facility Owner/Operator” • After the Contact Type is chosen click on the “Continue” and you will be asked to enter all of the necessary information • This portion should pertain to the actual owner of the account.

  11. Bureau of Fire Services • Owner Contact Information: • When “Individual” is selected you won’t be able to enter a Company name • When “Organization” is selected you won’t be able to enter a First and Last Name for the account • You will be able to enter the “DBA/Trade Name

  12. Bureau of Fire Services • Contact Information: • Preferred Channel: Is asking for your preferred method of contact • We will contact you by email and by phone when necessary

Bureau of Fire Services • Contact Information: • The information being entered here is the contact information for the owner of the certificate. • All fields should contain information regarding the owner of the account and the certificates. • Complete all required fields and click on continue

Bureau of Fire Services • After clicking on Continue your account creation data will • be reviewed in the system to confirm no duplicate accounts are • already in existence “The information you entered is not found” • means it is not being duplicated. • The screen will be dark and the window shown below will appear and wait for you to click Continue • NOTE: Depending on the settings on your computer you may have to scroll up on your screen to actually view the confirmation.

  18. Bureau of Fire Services • Confirmation will appear, then you will “Login” to proceed with your applications.

  22. Bureau of Fire Services Be sure to click on the “Fire Services” link and then “Create/Amend an Application/Record”

  32. Bureau of Fire Services • Low Impact pyro tech material is included in the exemption amount • Permanent facilities that were licensed to the same person last year that has changes this year must submit plans for review.

  41. Bureau of Fire Services There are only 3 fields required on this screen: The Certificate number, Sales amount reporting, Mi Sales TX Lic.

  42. Bureau of Fire Services You may be able to enter data into other fields but once it is saved it will revert back to autofill data.

  43. Bureau of Fire Services After submitting the required information you can see the calculations are completed.

  44. Bureau of Fire Services You will move to the payment. You can use credit cards or electronic checks. NO PAPER CHECKS
