  3. “There is, I believe, an urgent need to re-establish the political link between philosophy, as critical reflexion on doxai, and citizenship, as a reflective stance with regard to one’s political duties and rights: philosophy as citizenship and citizenship as philosophical activity” (238). “Democracy is an infinite task and an infinite responsibility directed towards the future; its temporality is that of advent. To think of democracy as futural is to take up the ethico-political obligation to invent democracy, more and better, today and every day. Democracy is a political form characterized by incompletion and deferral, which is to say that democracy has a différential structure.   7. Fascinatie met religie blijkt ook uit grootste bestseller tot nu toe (2008, 13 vertalingen!):

  8. *onze cultuur word gekenmerkt door “denial of death”. Enerzijds fascinatie met verlenging van het leven, anderzijds New Age “illusion of death” *werkelijke zingeving alleen mogelijk in aangezicht van eigen eindigheid *biografie van de filosoof is filosofisch relevant. Filosofie verbonden met eigen existentiële inzet van de filosoof.
