Neil Castaldi Brings Old World Values to His World Life Neil Castaldi earned his business degree in Naples, Italy at the University of Naples. Castaldi’s first venture into hospitality was operations duties on the S/S Oceanic Luxury Cruise Ship from 1977 to 1981. Neil’s father Ciro passed away in the 70’s, and Neil was propelled into employment to support his family and his Mama Lena. Maddalena Tortora Castaldi was born in a small village outside of Naples, Italy, and migrated with her family to the United States in the late 1960’s.
Neil Castaldi Sacrifices Family Life to Begin His Hospitality Career Grounded in family life, Neil Castaldi had left Naples when he was only 16, and his time working as a waiter, bartender, purser and maître d’ on the SS Oceanic Cruise Ship of Home Lines left him only one or two times a year to see his family, who had emigrated to the East Coast of the United States in the late 60’s.
