  4. Solar cooker in our school: The solar cooker costs Rs.70, 000. Solar Cookers can be effectively used for cooking Dal and Rice in our school. If we install solar Cookers we will be able to save 25 cylinders of LPG per month.

  6. The cost for installing the solar water heater for Holkar house – 4.5 lakh The cost for installing the solar water heater for Malwa house – 3.5 lakh = 8 lakh (Additional 50 thousand is required for plumbing) that sums up to 8.5 lakh

  7. In Daly College there are 800 boarders. We worked out estimates for hot water required for bathing for two boarding houses which have a total of 300 students. Each student / day requires 15 litre of hot water of 70ºC. Electricity consumption → Q = MST Where Q is in kilo calories M = Mass (in Kg) S = Specific heat of water = 1 T = ΔT it is the change in temperature. ΔT for 70 ºC = 50ºC Q = MST = 15 X 1 X 50 = 750 kilo calories = 0.87225 kWh For 300 students we will be saving energy/day = 0.87225 kWh X 300 = 261.675 kWh For 300 students we will be saving energy/year (205 days approx) = 261.675 x 205 = 60,000 kWh
