  20. School Intruder Drill • Who • Anyone can initiate a lockdown by notifying others if there is an imminent violent threat …sight or sound of dangerous weapons or intruders. (Only school administration can initiate or terminate drills). • Everyone must comply with a lockdown order. • What • Lockdown as per DCS policy and procedures. (As able teachers should clear hallways and shelter students left astray prior to shutting their doors.) • When • Immediately upon notification

  23. School Intruder Drill Remember to ADD: Avoid being a target. Be aware and control regular access. Evacuate any immediate threat area and take as many people as possible with you. Remember windows as potential evacuation options. Deny access to where you are by lockdown and barricade if possible. Defend your students and yourself as a last resort. (STG) desk You may determine to push a desk or a file cabinet in front of the door during an actual emergency for additional protection.   24. Triage Identify and sort most serious injuries from minor ones. Treat and evacuate in order beginning with most immediate need. Don’t bog down in systems and/or color codes. First Aide (Triage) Kits are available.
