Number Killed • It is estimated that The Nazis killed 2.1 to 2.5 million Jews, Gypsies, and Homosexuals in Auschwitz/Birkenau, But that is only an estimate. People think that at least 4 million were killed by the Nazis in that one camp!
Purpose of the Camp • Auschwitz/ Birkenau is a Sub camp but it was also an extermination camp.
Interesting facts • Auschwitz/ Birkenau was liberated by the red army or the Soviet Union. • There was a total of 7 gas chambers in Auschwitz/ Birkenau. • There were 3 Crematoriums were they burned the dead into ashes. • This camp had more security than any other camp in Poland
Location • Bergen-Belsen is located in Lower Saxony, Germany.
Established/Liberated • Bergen-Belsen was established in 1940 and was liberated in April 15th 1945 by British troops.
Number Killed • It is estimated that about 18,000 people died every month in this camp by the end it is thought to have killed about 2 million people.
Purpose of the Camp • This camp was originally a Prisoner of war camp but was then turned into a death camp.
Facts • Anne Frank was sent here and died here. • This camp was liberated by the British. • About 20,000 died in one month • Anne Franks Margot also died here
Location • The location of Westerbork is in the Netherlands near the towns Westerbork and Assen

Number killed • Unlike the other camps Westerbork was a deportation camp we it send 54,940 Jews to Auschwitz, 34,313 to Sobibor, 4,771 to Theresienstadt ghetto and 3,762 to Bergen Belsen.
Purpose of the camp • The Purpose of this camp was a Deportation camp where it would house Jewish refugees mainly from Germany.
Facts • This was a deportation camp • Liberated by Canadian allies • Anne Frank was kept here then deported to Bergen-Belsen • EttyHillesum was also kept here
Location • Belzec was located in Belzec Southeastern Poland near Lvov (L’viv)
Establishment/Liberation • It was established in March 1941and was not liberated it was dismantled by the Nazis and they killed everyone there then they Planted trees and crops to disguise it as a farm
Number killed • It is thought that about 600,000 were killed by Nazis in this camp
Purpose of the Camp • This camp was a deportation camp and an extermination camp. It is estimated that about 434,500 Jews were deported to other camps.
Facts • Reports of killing by electrocution. • No one knew about Belzec because it was taken down and turned into a farm by the Nazis. • This was one of the most Mysterious camps because there were absolutely no records of it. • There is still many questions about Belzec.
Location • Majdanek is located in the outskirts of Lublin, Poland
Establishment/Liberation • It was established in October 1, 1941and then Liberated By the Soviet Union in July 23, 1944.
Number Killed • When the Soviets liberated the camp They thought to have seen at least 1.7 million Jews dead there in a big pile but when they revised their numbers they counted 1.5 million Jews dead.
Purpose of the camp • This camp was originally a POW camp but then changed to and extermination camp for Jews.
Facts • The area of the camp was about 2.7 sq. kilometers, surrounded by an electrified barbed wire fence and watch-towers. It was surrounded by workshops and storage facilities. • The first inmates were Polish political prisoners, Polish Jews and 5,000 Soviet POWs who arrived in October 1941. • The gas used in this camp was the same as the gas used in Auschwitz/ Birkenau Zyklon-B • The largest massacre occurred on November 3, 1943, when 17,000 Jews were machine-gunned to death as part of the 'ErntefestAktion'. It is estimated that up to 500,000 people passed through Majdanek, of whom 200,000 perished. Approximately 125,000 of these were Jews.
