Catania: new facilities • New bonding machine: Delvotec 6400 • Since March 8th • From Delvotec – Braunau am Inn (Austria) • Used (Siemens, Munchen – 5 years – 800 hours) & refurbished • On lease. Rent paid for 2005 only at the moment • Rent 1700 €/month • Will own if rent paid for 4 years • Oldest of 2 Hughes dismissed • Now in clean room: Delvotec, newest of 2 Hughes • New operators • 2nd operator fully trained already since last meeting (Feb 2nd). • 3rd operator: Russian engineer with temp contract.
Catania’s new Delvotec 6400 • Delvotec 6400 vs. Hughes 2470 performance • Bonding times down: • TIB34: 8’ 10”vs. 45’ + x • TIB12: 12’ 15”vs. 65’ + x • Backs: 15”vs. 1’ + x • Reliability up: • Machine failure rate: negligible • Bonding failures: negligible • PHL- (DEAD) channels: none so far • Experience: • 45 modules bonded w/ new machine • Programs for all module types ready: TIB34, TIB12, TIB12sl, TIB12sr (back/front/pulltest/after_pulltest)
Catania’s new Delvotec 6400 • Delvotec 6400 vs. Hughes 2470 bond parameters: • In this area we are still experimenting. In general: • There seems to by a narrower window available for all parameters • Unable to achieve more then ~10g pull force • Parameters tuned up by Delvotec technician as ‘the best for our parts’ are higher on Sensor than on PA • With Hughes, it was the other way around. • Other Centers have either similar par’s or slightly higher on PA • Gradually reducing gap while constantly watching foot deformation and pull forces. • Done many pull tests, as prescribed in case of new setup • Still searching for the ‘best’ par combination
