  2. What is the EOG? • The test assesses the students in math and reading on grade level. • The test is NOT created by Discovery Education like our Benchmarks. • The test is created by the state of North Carolina.

  3. When is the EOG Administered? • Wednesday May 29th • Thursday May 30th

  4. EOG Test Breakdown • Math- • Taken on one day, unlike previous EOGs. • 54 questions for 3rd and 4th grade. • Second section of the test allow calculator use. • We have calculators, no need to provide any from home. • Questions allowing calculator use: 42

  5. Math Portion of the EOG 3rd Grade • Operations and Algebraic Thinking: 30-35% • Number and operations in base ten: 5-10% • Number and operations in fractions: 20-25% • Measurement and Data: 22-27% • Geometry: 10-15% Total: 100%

  8. Reading Portion of the EOG 3rd Grade • Reading for Literature: 32-37% • Reading for Information: 41-45% • Reading Foundation Skills: N/A • Writing: N/A • Speaking and Listening: N/A • Language: 24%

Tips for Test Day • Do something FUN the night before the tests. • There will not be any homework • Go to bed early • Eat a nutritious breakfast with protein • Arrive to school on time! • Students who arrive late cannot be admitted to the classroom once the test has started. • They will have to take the test on make-up days.

  15. Test Scores • Once the tests have been submitted, the results (and the time at which we receive them) are in the hands of the great state of North Carolina. • When we know, you’ll know 
