  2. The verb to be in the present and in the Past (1) In the present (simple): Shelli is a girl. I am her best friend. We are tennis players. Her parents are doctors. All the time, always, usually הפועל to be בהווה מתאר מה המצב עכשיו / בדרך כלל.

  3. The verb to be in the present and in the Past (2) In the past (simple): My mother was a beautiful girl. I was 12 years old last week. We were at the basketball game yesterday. yesterday, last week, in 2001 הפועל to be בעבר מתאר מה היה המצב בעבר. (הייתי, היית, היה, היינו, היו )
