Engineering Operations. FY09 Operations: To date, NSTX has completed 10.48 run weeks, with 1698 plasma attempts resulting in 1611 completions. Scheduled to complete the run by Aug 14th at a target 16 run weeks. Last NSTX maintenance period of the run is drawing to a close

Engineering Operations • FY09 Operations: • To date, NSTX has completed 10.48 run weeks, with 1698 plasma attempts resulting in 1611 completions. • Scheduled to complete the run by Aug 14th at a target 16 run weeks. • Last NSTX maintenance period of the run is drawing to a close • - Replaced the NB Calorimeter Bellows • - Refilled both LITER probes • - Re-shimmed and tightened error field coil brackets • - Installed lithium droppers (shakers) at Bays I & C • HHFW Antenna and NB Ion Source conditioning will continue for the remainder of this week. Plasma Ops to resume on July 6th. • Error Field Coil testing this week will include the commissioning of PFAB coil protection in the SPA controls.
Engineering Operations • FY09 Outage/ FY10 Ops Planning: • Plan on an abbreviated outage to install and commission the Liquid Lithium Divertor system and the new BES diagnostic, as well as whatever progress can be made on the MSE/LIF diagnostic. • Seven weeks of in-vessel work is planned (Oct 9th - Nov 24th). • 3 weeks of post run & ~ 4 weeks of post outage calibrations planned. • In-vessel tiles will be cleaned (sanded) before Oct 9th • LLD & BES tasks scheduled 2 shifts/day during opening • - Pump-down scheduled for Jan 6th • - ISTP scheduled to start on Feb 24th • - Planning on 17 run weeks in FY10 • Significant Elevated Water Tower riser repairs, and a PSE&G replacement of 138kV lines are needed before the start of the FY10 run.
