Approvals & Certifications • for Horner Products • Horner Products carry two different variations of UL Electrical Ratings • Ordinary Location • Hazardous Location (Class I, Div 2) • Horner Products are UL certified in the USA & Canada • CSA cross-recognizes C-UL • Most Horner products get their UL ratings a few months after launch

Approvals & Certifications • for Horner Products • ATEX is a Hazardous Location rating based out of European Standards • It is very similar, but not identical to UL Class I, Div 2 • Horner products carry rating of Group II, Category 3 (Zone 2 situations), Gas • Horner Declaration of Conformity lists products which are ATEX rated II 3 G

Approvals & Certifications • for Horner Products Environmental Ratings • NEMA • The biggest area of confusion for ratings on products is in Environmental Ratings • In general, Horner follows NEMA (N.America) and in some cases IP (Eur) standards • NEMA and IP set the standards for Environment, are are self-certifying • UL offers an Environmental validation service

Approvals & Certifications • for Horner Products Environmental Ratings • NEMA • NEMA & UL Environmental Listings are Virtually Identical • Horner validates every design to the NEMA standard • UL will only apply a Type Rating to units it tests in its own facility • Only the XLt & Ruggedized RX371 carry a UL Type Rating in addition to NEMA OR ???
