Ethics and Governance • IRAS application • Cover letter, Invitation letters (*2), reply slips, PIS, consent forms, IRGA forms, risk assessment, rejection letters, protocols, focus group schedules *6) IRAS form and insurance forms • Ethics committee meeting Fri 18th Sept – no concerns raised • University Southampton (insurance) • Salisbury NHS trust (sponsor)

Exhibition companies • Commercial companies identified • Expression of interest designed, sent out and responses processed • Exhibitors prospectus designed, sent out and responses processed • Bioness, Ectron, Hocoma, Odstock medical limited, Ottobock, Peacocks, Saebo • Logistics – identification of venue, parking, catering • Photos and text re: products obtained

Exhibition attendees • Publicity • Day 1- Health care professionals: NHS trusts, ACPIN, WP2, private rehabilitation providers, colleagues in ATRAS work packages • Days 2&3 - Patients and carers: radio, press, voluntary sector, private rehabilitation providers, participant data bases, colleagues in ATRAS work packages • Admin support – Jo (phone calls) and Rachel (emails) • Story Boards – images, typical usage, pros and cons • Patient and therapist interaction with technologies (days 2 & 3) • Delegate responses • Organisation of days

  8. Exhibition Outputs • Memory jogger sheets – inform focus group discussion schedules • List of potential participants for focus groups • Report to inform WP 4 • Dissemination

Focus Groups • Participants • People attending the exhibition (WP1 workshop, ACPIN personal contact if required) • Purposive sampling to ensure representation • Six Focus Groups • Patients who have used UL ATs • Patients who have NOT used UL ATs • Carers of people with stroke • Multi-disciplinary healthcare professionals (stroke rehab) • Service Managers and budgets holders in stroke rehabilitation • People responsible for commissioning stroke services (?interviewed separately)

  10. Focus Groups - Timetable • Focus groups - November / December 2009 • Data Analysis – January to April 2010 • Questionnaire designed and validated by May 2010 • All ahead of schedule (Gantt chart)
