CLASSIFICATION SCHEMES used in Classifying Library Materials The LIRC is adapting the DEWEY DECIMAL CLASSIFICATION system in classifying information materials like books, e-books, etc.
Classification schemes used… HEGIS CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM is used in classifying Unpublished Materials like theses, dissertations, narrative reports, etc.

WHAT IS OPAC? • This is the acronym for • ONLINE PUBLIC ACCESS CATALOG. • OPAC is a directory of all the information materials available inside the LIRC. • It gives the researcher the complete bibliographic information of each information material available, the location in the shelves and the status if it is inside the LIRC or loaned-out by the customer.
BASIC POLICIES • Leave your bags at the designated depository areas before • entering the library and the e-library; • Log-in your name, course/year and sign at the log-in area near the • entrance/exit passage anytime you enter the library/e-library;
