REDD+ PROGRESS IN WEST KALIMANTAN PROVINCE Carpon Pool Studies (Tanjungpura University, Dayak Cultural Council, OEDAS, and private sector) • Governor’s Climate and Forest (GCF) Taskforce Accomplish and final formulated of REDD+ Taskforce and Low Emmison Development Strategies (LEDS) OEDAS founding and & First Analysis of Stock Carbon Pool in West Kalimantan April-Sept 2011 Sept-Oct 2009 Nov-Dec 2009 Jan-Dec 2010 Maret-Sept 2011 Jan-Dec 2011 2009 REDD+ Demonstration Activities (REDD+ DA) dan VoluntaryCarbonProject (HoB, FFI, DED, etc) • Communication of self sufficient possibilities funding within stakeholder in Province and Ditrict level • Collaboration approaching between West Kalimantan Province and US Agency for International Development - Indonesia Forest and Climate Support Program (USAID-IFACS)

REDD+ WEST KALIMANTAN TARGET 2011-2020 • Achievement quota emmision from Forestry and enviromental sector as 32.233.297 Ton CO2e from implementation of planning, development actions and action plan activities within budget sectoral in West Kalimantan, to support Indonesia depletion emmision vision 2020 as 26% from emission level from BAU (business as usual), • Achievement planning of equal payment/insentive REDD+with accountabel, capable, and free from political influence scheme at District/City and village level and diseminations with all communication public reach tools. • Achievement of West Kalimantan sustainable biodiversity within economic development and communities enrichment aspect.

REDD+ OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALENGE • West Kalimantan Governor; as part of central goverment, with all provincial institutions, support totaly of Indonesia commitment year 2020 for depletion 26%, Degradation and Deforestration emmisions programs from BAU (business as usual), • Compliance carbon market scheme from emiter carbon international and others industrial countries, • Entusiastic of grassroot to involve within others stakeholder to development communities strategies and comprehension limitated base MRV conception

REDD+ NEEDED IN WEST KALIMANTAN • Massive REDD+ Pilot programs which all communities element engaged who lived in surround forest land area and coastal area; • Socialitation and diseminations of simple carbon calculating technique and Communities MRV who can implementated by grassroot communities within others stakeholder; • Sustainable funding investation within equal and partnerships to support and rehabilitate land degradation and deforestration.
