Petal needs in B180. Petal schedule is far behind stave schedule Most likely no full Petal before production starts We may want to test smaller structures addressing Petal specific issues, eg Petalino. Use 4” wafers. Eventually use real size sensors (either wedge or barrel-type). 8.60 cm.

Petal needs in B180 The small object we will make (now dubbed Petalino) won't be ready before fall of 2011 Full size wedges will not be ready before 2012 We would be interested, however, on a small corner with access to a DAQ setup for running the Petalino Dark box HSIO access Cooling (chiller with circulating anti-freeze, access to Nitrogen ) Thermo-Mechanical tests are being done in IFIC-Valencia, NIKHEF and DESY If fancy equipment available, a disk (or disk sector) mock-up would be interesting but it would require 64 dummy petals.... Forward Efforts relevant to B180 • Some groups (DESY, Freiburg, NN) will build a limited number of barrel modules • Have bought sensors • Receive hybrids from Liverpool • Original motivation is to gain experience • These modules will be contributed to the STAVE 09 programme Carlos Lacasta & Uli Parzefall
Manpower Contribution from Forward Groups • Poll for contributing effort was made after last EC sensor meeting • Received the expected contributions listed below • NB: for the analysis students involved this is meant to be service work (class 3 OTP), and it should be recognised as such • DESY (Zeuthen): • PhD student from April 2011 for 3+3 months, 0.8 FTE (Conrad Friedrich) • Berlin (Humboldt), works closely with DESY-Zeuthen: • Postdoc June-July 2011 with 0.5 FTE (Malik Aliev) • Freiburg • PhD student from about now for 6months 0.3 FTE (LivWiik) Carlos Lacasta & Uli Parzefall
