Northwest High SchoolAthletic Department Kroger Community Rewards Presentation May 29, 2012
PROGRAM OVERVIEW • Families at Northwest High School and Pleasant Run Middle School can benefit from Kroger Plus Card purchases • It’s as simple as registering your Kroger Plus Card, registering with the Athletic Department, and shopping for groceries
HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS • Kroger will donate $1.25 million per quarter to participating organizations in the “Greater Cincinnati Region” • The amount each organization receives is based on how much the organization’s members spend with their Kroger Plus Card compared to competing organizations
HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS • A family or “household” can earn a maximum of $300 per quarter ($1200 per year), in the program—this is applied directly as a credit toward the pay-to-participate fee • More than one “household” can contribute to a specific student, so the credits can accumulate quickly
EXCEPTIONS Some purchases will not count toward the total amount spent: • Fuel and fuel center purchases • Alcohol • Tobacco • Gov’t-assisted pharmacy expenses • Postage stamps • Kroger gift cards • Reloadable gift cards • Lottery tickets • Money orders • Western Union transactions
HOW WE APPLY CREDITS • Each family will be assigned a “Family ID Number” • Every three months, we will receive a lump sum check from Kroger • We also receive a report showing each Kroger Plus Card enrolled with “Northwest High School Athletics” and how much money each card contributed to our total amount
HOW WE APPLY CREDITS • We will match up the Kroger Plus Card numbers and amounts with the assigned students • The students will then have the corresponding dollar amount applied to their $200 pay-to-participate fee • We will issue an invoice showing the amount of credit earned and the balance due • Payment in full is required before a student can compete/perform
HOW WE APPLY CREDITS • We will publicize a timeline so that families have an idea of when to expect an invoice • We will not know a balance until the invoices are generated • Credits will be applied to the oldest student in the “Family ID” group participating in a sport/activity at the time the credits are issued
HOW WE APPLY CREDITS • Twins/Triplets/Quads participating in the same season will have the credit applied alphabetically • Divorced/separated/blended families are required to have one “Family ID” (in other words, a specific student cannot appear on multiple “Family ID’s”) • Multiple “households” CAN contribute to a “Family ID”
HOW WE APPLY CREDITS • If a student does make a team in a “cut” sport, that credit will remain with the “Family ID” for a younger sibling to use immediately, or it may be used in a subsequent season • If a student is injured, removed from, or quits the team, the credit for that particular activity is forfeited
CARRY-OVER • All credit will carry over to the next school year as long as the “Family ID Number” continues to have a student participating in grades 7-12 • If a student graduates with a balance on their “Family ID,” that balance will be applied to the next oldest sibling with their next sport/activity, provided that said sibling will be in at least 7th grade
CARRY-OVER • If at graduation, a student has a balance and no other siblings are listed in that “Family ID,” the balance will be absorbed by the Athletic Department • All contributing households have to re-enroll their Kroger Plus Card to support Northwest High School Athletics by May 1 of each year • After graduation, families are encouraged to continue to support Northwest High School Athletics by re-enrolling their Plus Card annually
HOW TO REGISTER There are three simple steps to participating in our program: • Register with the High School Athletic Department • Create your Kroger account online • Enroll your Kroger Plus Card in Community Rewards for Northwest High School Athletics
STEP ONE: ATHLETIC DEPT. • Fill out the registration sheet • There is room for three “households,” but you may submit an additional registration sheet to add households to your “Family ID” at any time • This must be in writing on the registration form; we cannot take this information over the phone or via email • If you lose/change your Kroger Plus Card, you must re-register your number with the Athletic Department (and with Kroger)
STEP TWO: KROGER ACCOUNT • If you already have an online account with Kroger, you won’t need to re-register • If you need to create an account, go to www.kroger.com and click on “Create an Account” • Follow the steps to create an account (ZIP Code, Plus Card information, Alternate ID, terms and conditions)
STEP TWO: KROGER ACCOUNT • You will receive an email confirmation to activate your new online account • Select the hyperlink in the confirmation email, and then log in
