  11. Expanded Rapidly! • 2 Senior Sides • Academy Team • 5 Junior Teams • 11 Qualified Coaches • Community Focused

  12. “Rodley CC are one of the most progressive clubs in the UK” – English Cricket Board So How Did We Do It? We had a clear vision We had a reason We had belief and ambition We built and nurtured partnerships It felt right and we made our own luck But, long term planning meant we didn’t focus enough on the present

  13. Present - 2017 • No clear plan for the future • People have bought into their personal interpretation of what the vision should be • Need to harness the renewed positivity and rebuild the senior teams and entrench them into the club • We have to balance growth against financial sustainability • We have to manage the transition (including expectations and needs) of the older playing members to embed the youngsters • We’ve gone from being a big club in a small league to a small club in a big league • We have a business to run to support the cricket club

  14. Future 2018-2023 Plan Clear Direction & Structure Ambition Financially Sustainable Improve Facilities Stability

  15. Mission Statement To foster, promote and encourage participation in the amateur sport of cricket, upholding the spirit and traditions of the game. Our goal is to provide the environment, facilities and opportunities for people to play cricket with a particular focus on creating pathways for young players into senior cricket; alongside encouraging and strengthening community engagement.

  16. Structure

  17. Clear Responsibilities Cricket Committee The management shall be responsible for the overall management of the club, its finances, policies, the facilities, leases/licences, insurance, disciplinary matters, membership, communication and delivering the strategic plans of the club. The committee will receive a report from the cricket committee monthly and ensure that the club is run to serve its core purpose – cricket. The cricket committee shall be responsible for all ‘cricket specific decisions’ including senior selection committee, recruitment, captains, training regimes, expected standards, coaching, school/club links, junior selection and informing/influencing the management committee on such matters as future aspirations, kit/equipment and desired facility improvements. Management Committee

  18. 2018-2023 • Ambition • Year on year improvement • Massive scope • Recruitment & Selection • Target setting • Coaching/Training • Appropriate pathways • Sustainable • Service loans • Running a business • Heart of the community • Site Management

  19. 2018-2023 • Improve the square & outfield • ECB Pitch Inspection Report • Covers, roller, mowers & equipment • End of Season Renovations • Level outfield • Improve Practice Facilities • Extend square • Artificial facilities

  20. Juniors Making cricket a fun learning, inclusive environment for all.

  21. Juniors • To develop exciting players who have the freedom to express, be original and play without fear in both practice and games • To give ownership by allowing players too take responsibility, make their own decisions & self-reflect. Their opinions count! • We encourage a ‘growth mind-set’ – I can do this by taking considered risks in both practice and games. Learn with no fear • Learn the game through play – let the game be the teacher, using trial and error as an assessment for learning. • To enable all players of all abilities to be the best they can be at what ever level that may be.

Warning! • RCC has more junior than senior players currently. • Match Days committee presence • Future heartbeat of the Club! • Invested in facilities and pitch • Club needs Longevity • Will be dead in 5-10 years without juniors • 2nd XI fixtures during 2017 would have been forfeited but for the investment we have put into our juniors over last 2 years. • We cannot rest on our laurels or leave it to the few that have carried the Juniors through last few winters and summer • WE NEED YOUR HELP! • Managers / Coaches / Match day volunteers / administrators • THEY DON’T CARE HOW MUCH YOU KNOW UNTIL THEY KNOW HOW MUCH YOU CARE • Thank you!
