Presentation Objective • Participants will learn how Plickers can provide real-time formative assessment data without the need for student devices. • Participants will learn how to create classes, assign cards to students, create questions, scan responses, and view results in order to use Plickers in the classroom • Participants will learn how this formative assessment data can be used to tailor instruction to make sure students are understanding key skills and concepts. • Participants will hear experiences from teachers piloting the Plickers program within Wicomico High School, in order to collaborate to further the reach of the program within each department.
What is Plickers? • A real-time assessment tool • Does not require student devices • Provides instant feedback • Interactive and anonymous
What is Plickers? • Each card has a student number attached to it • That number is specific to one student in each class • Each side of the card is an answer choice • Students turn the card to indicate their answer selection
How to use Plickers? • Formative Assessment • Exit Slip • Survey/Polls • Warm Ups
How to use Plickers? • Tailor instruction to assess student understanding of skills and main concepts • Instant results to check for understanding and re-visit topics as needed • Quicker and easier than PC related quizzes, surveys, etc.
Setup • Setup Plickers account at: • www.plickers.com • Print Your Cards • Cards available via Plickers website • Download the App • Available on Android or iOS Devices • Only the teacher needs the app
