Our Students Our students are adults from a wide variety of countries • Our students mainly come from Western Europe and North America • Almost all students have a college or higher degree. • Approximately 60% of our students are female. • The minimum age to attend any Babylon Idiomas school is 18 years • The average age at our schools is 28 years • In Summer the average tends to be lower because of college holidays. • Please note that the mix of students can change by school and by week.

The Spanish Language Spanish is one of the most important languages in the world Spanish is spoken by between 322 and 400 million people natively, making Spanish the most spoken Romance language and possibly the second most spoken language by number of native speakers in the world. Spanish (español) or Castilian (castellano) is a Romance language originally from the northern area of Spain. In total, twenty-five nations and territories use Spanish as their primary language, which is spoken in every continent around the world. It is one of six official languages of the United Nations. Spanish originated as a dialect of Latin and its use gradually spread inside the Kingdom of Castile, where it eventually became the principal language of the government and trade. It was later taken to the Americas and other parts of the world in the last five centuries by Spanish explorers and colonists. Over 150.000 students come to Spain every year to learn Spanish which makes it the second most popular in-country language study after English in the UK.
