  8. Business Partners Inventory • Are employees available to volunteer? • If so, how many hours are they available per week? Per month? What time of day? • What skills and knowledge do they have to share? • What, if any, financial resources are available - cash or in-kind? • Are there any special volunteer interests?

Today we should • Agree on activities that support the School Improvement Plan and student achievement • Agree on responsibilities • identify who will do what • Commit to a plan • Develop timeline • Discuss how the partnership will be evaluated • Start small and build from success • Establish method of feedback

  10. Things we can’t do • Advertise • Distribute flyers to parents • Disregard rules on incentives

BCPS Policies for Partner Volunteers • # 1 Priority: Student Achievement and Safety • Complete the Volunteer Application • Maintain consistent and regular attendance. • Record attendance for each visit. • Follow regulations and procedures of school. • Wear a school volunteer (partner) nametag. • Discuss school problems with staff members at appropriate times. • Call the school if you cannot be present on a day you are scheduled. • Observe discretion in commenting on school matters. • Attire should be appropriate for school.
