  4. Process Skills Involved Students will be able to : • Compare – the different conditions • Analyse – the different planets • Decide – on which planet • Imagine – the living scenario • Persuade – readers to agree with them

  5. Newsflash!!! URGENT The EARTH is NO LONGER SAFE for HUMAN INHABITATION in 120 HOURS!!

The Present Situation... • Imagine you are a researcher working for NASA in the year 2250, about to embark on a special mission to save mankind. • It is predicted that in 120 hours, comets will strike the Earth’s surface. • Thereafter, all lifeforms will be mercilessly wiped out from the surface of this Earth.

  7. Your Mission • Firstly, gather essential data on the conditions survival of humans as well as other forms of living things. • Record all your findings on the activity sheet (I) provided.

Your Mission • You are then required to study the 4 given planets carefully and decide which is most suitable for inhabitation. • Based on all the relevant data gathered, write a letter of proposal (activity II) to convince the president of NASA as to why you have chosen that particular planet.

  9. Accomplishing your Mission ... • Finally, you must write an imaginary essay assuming you have already lived on the planet for a day. Titled -‘A Day living on Planet ….’ • You have to convince everyone all over the world (in 300 words) that life on that planet is somewhat similar,but far more exciting, as compared to the life on Earth.

  10. Planet Magnum • Land of volcanoes • Hot atmospheric temperatures, that ranges from 35 - 280 Degree Celsius • Fertile land that is able to support vegetation • Dinosaurs inhabit the land

  11. Planet Dreyers • Land of colourful rocks • Rocky uneven land with sandy soil • Scorching hot sun in the day, extreme cold temperatures by night • Hardly any lifeforms sighted,except for different types of small insects

  12. Planet Haagen • Clayey soil suitable for agriculture • Rains continuously in certain parts • In other parts, fair weather is experienced • Ferocious carnivorous animal rule the land

  13. Planet Walls • Gloomy land • Freezing cold temperatures of -8 to 5 Degree Celsius • Low gravitational forces acting on the planet • Strange looking inhabitants rule the lands
