Definition - refers collectively to all media technologies that are intended to reach a large audience via mass communication. The Mass Media aims to influence the government by reporting the anything that the source considers news (i.e. debates/reports on officials/news stories/etc.) Application to US Government – The media is the method that communicates all the news and issues being discussed and can influence the officials by reports or showing flaws in platforms/decisions Example: Coverage of the Occupy Wall Street Protest against SOPA Mass Media and Influence on Government
