  2. Why Did we Get Involved? • Enthusiasm and challenge!! • Practices are keen and think they are ready!! • Identifies whether Data Quality work over last few years has been successful • Part of Community Wide Working Group

  3. Which Practices? • 100% Summarised • Selection of clinical systems • Different sized practices • Enthusiastic practices • Practices committed to the time needed

  4. PRIMIS+ Acceptance • Would they select us? • Pilot one between us • Take on-line test on Information Governance and Good Practice Guidelines • One Day training at Nottingham • Came away more enthusiastic!!

  5. Testing Process • All query sets sent to all pilot schemes • 16 sets and over 100 queries!! • Focused on one or two sets • Ours were Drugs to Diagnosis 1 and 2 • Within each set 5 different queries

  6. Testing Problems • CHART • Clinical system knowledge • Vision (VES) • EMIS PCS • iSOFT • Microtest – No problems

  7. Feedback to PRIMIS+ • Work with clinicians to identify data recording issues or problems with query sets • Identify problems with reporting in CHART • Excellent support from PRIMIS+

  8. Other Resource Testing • Baseline Assessment (BLA) • Training Needs Assessment (TNA) – paper • e-TNA • Practice Plan

  9. Lessons Learned • Cardinal Rule – Plan!!! • High confidence of IT required in practices (VES) • Lots of assumed knowledge at practice level around IM&T DES • BLA/TNA highlighted areas of knowledge gap • Good knowledge of Miquest interpreter • Good contacts with clinical system suppliers

  10. Lessons Learned • Practice Champions needed • Personal understanding of clinical system tools are useful to help standardise data capture

  11. Future Planning • BLA with all practices • Path to Paperless Accreditation TBA • Rollout • Good Time Management • Adjust work plan for coming months • Start with awareness at practice level • CHART training • Query running
