What is a Dry Chi? • A Dry Chi is a SOBER MONITOR • You help your sisters! • Make sure they are safe at all times! • This includes not giving them a ticket if they can’t handle it, getting them home safely if they are too drunk, giving them food or water, being with them if they are getting sick • This DOES NOT mean just doing your homework at the house or signing up to get points! THIS IS A JOB!

  3. General Practices • Do not wear your letters • Please arrive at 8:20 before each social • Meet in the kitchen!

  4. Dry Chi Jobs • Bus babes • Check-in girls • Girls helping move people around the house • Social monitors • House monitors

  5. Check-In girls • 2 girls checking in four tables (8 total) • Going to try to be older girls/exec members • You’ll have two lists: guest list and bus shift list • CHECK girls and THEIR DATES on the BUS SHIFT LIST • Hand them a ticket • DO NOT HAND THEM A TICKET IF THEY LOOK THEY ARE TOO DRUNK AND SHOULDN’T GO TO THE SOCIAL! THEY WILL JUST HAVE TO LEAVE THE SOCIAL AS SOON AS THEY GET THERE! • DON’T BE AFRAID TO DENY SOMEBODY A TICKET! IF YOU ARE HAVING PROBLEMST TALK TO ME, JAE, OR SHANNON! • YOU NEED TO BE AGGRESSIVE! • CHECK IN TABLES NEED TO GIVE THEIR GUEST LISTS TO THE BUS BABES

  6. If girls claim to be on the list and aren’t… • Ask them if they have signed the social contract • Ask them if they are on the no social list • Have outstanding dues or are on social probation • Get me, Jae, or Shannon • I will have an official no social list • It could be a mistake

  7. Bus Babes: General • 2 on each bus (4 total PER SHIFT) • Three shifts: • 9-10:30 • 10:30-11:30 • 11:30-End of Social • If you haven’t bus babed yet, you need to step up. Keep that in mind if you want to Dry Chi/bring a date. • There must be 2 bus babes on a bus at ALL TIMES – THERE SHOULD NEVER BE NO BUS BABES ON A BUS! • It is up to the bus babes for each shift to figure out who is in front of them or behind them and plan when to switch (get each others numbers!)

  8. Bus Babes: To the Social • Collect tickets! Do whatever you have to do to make sure girls AND THEIR DATES are putting a ticket in! Stand OUTSIDE the bus! • BE AGGRESSIVE! Call me if there is a problem! • Distribute trash bags to each seat and in the front of the bus

Bus Babes: During the social • If you have the middle shift, most likely you won’t get many people moving to and from • Try to have the bus parked at the social and not at the house • Expect some girls to have to come home early • One of you should take her into the house and hook her up with somebody stationed at the house

  10. Bus Babes: From the Social • CHECK GIRLS OFF THE LIST! • Again you might have to stand outside the bus or put a limb up or something so people check in with you before getting on the bus

  11. Girls helping at the house • PLEASE ACTUALLY HELP! • When girls walk in the door, lead them to the right direction right then and there! • I cannot handle 383943 many girls coming up to me so please do your job!

  12. Social Monitors • Leave on the first bus shift—no you do not need to sign up on a bus shift if you are a Dry Chi • YES, dance, have fun, get silly (hey!) • BUT, you also need to look out for girls! • Be observant, approach girls who look too drunk, HELP YOUR SISTERS OUT!

  13. House Monitors • Help take girls home if they are too drunk • If girls are throwing up, really drunk/sick, YOU CARE FOR THEM! • This could include taking them to the hospital (along with an exec member)! • THIS IS NOT A TIME FOR YOU TO GET “FREE POINTS” AND DO YOUR HOMEWORK

SIGNS OF ALCOHOL POISONING AKA TAKE THEM TO THE HOSPITAL! • Unconscious/semi-conscious • Vomiting while asleep/passed out • Skin is cold, clammy, pale, bluish • They are unresponsive to their name or to pinching of their skin • Their breathing is slow or irregular • Their heart is beating irregularly • EVEN IF THERE IS A CHANCE OF THEM NEEDING HELP, CALL ME, JAE, OR SHANNON AND GET THEM HELP! BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY!

  15. What YOU can do to help • Come to your shift on time • Ask another Dry Chi where your check-in station is (one of the girls helping move around) • DON’T LOITER AROUND THE HOUSE—IT DOESN’T MATTER WHAT SHIFT YOU HAVE! JUST GO0O0O0O0 (Check-in girls, help get these girls outta derr) • Be cooperative/nice to the Dry Chis—they are just trying to help you. • Contact me, Jae, or Shannon about any emergency situation! Thanks to the upperclassmen who have already done this! • Make smart decisions!

  16. Changes being made • There will be a list sent out in advance of who will be sober monitoring • All of the sober monitors and the chapter will receive a list of Dry Chis phone numbers! (Dry Chis will put their numbers down when they sign up!)
