  2. Początkowo był to termin obraźliwy- użyto go dla opisania wystawy obrazów, które wydały się szokująco szkicowe i niedopracowane.

  3. Obecnie jest to nazwa najpopularniejszego kierunku sztuki Zachodu.

  4. IMPRESJONIZM • kierunek w malarstwie i rzeźbie zapoczątkowany w latach 60. XIX w. we Francji, którego celem było maksymalne zbliżenie do natury oraz subiektywne utrwalanie zjawisk jednostkowych.

  5. PRZEDSTAWICIElE • Najważniejszymi przedstawicielami impresjonizmu byli: C. Monet, A. Renoir, E. Degas, C. Pissarro, A. Sisley, F. Bazille, B. Morisot .

  6. Impresja, wschód słońca Claude Monet 1872 Wybierając tytuł dla tego szkicowego widoku na Hawr, Monet mimowolnie przyczynił się do powstania nazwy "impresjonizm". Louis Leroy pisał w satyrycznym piśmie "Le Charivari": ’’Impresja!’’
