Nationwide Permits • Nationwide Permits (NWP) are a mechanism used for a quick permit decision for projects with minimal impacts.
NWP’s continued • Currently 51 NWP’s with NWP 26 reserved. • NWP’s are renewed every 5 years with the latest renewal in March of 2012. • NWP’s are for projects with minimal impacts. • Must be verified by Corps within 45 days of a complete submittal.
NWP’s continues • Must be in compliance with all general conditions (SHPO, Endangered Species, etc.). • Mitigation may be required to ensure impacts are minimal.
NWP Regional Conditions • NWP 10 – Mooring Buoys • May not be used in State owned water bottoms. • CZM conditions must be followed. • WQC conditions must be followed. • Special conditions may be added by the Corps.
