Company Overview • IMS is a privately owned technology company located in Waterloo,Ontario, the heart of “Canada’s Technology Triangle”. • IMS was founded in 1999, and today staffs over 100 employees. All R&D is performed and maintained at IMS. • To date, the company owns 27 patents and 28 patent-pending applications across a diverse range of technologies. • IMS is ISO 9001 & 14000 registered. • IMS has a strong relationship with the University of Waterloo, for joint research projects and advancement of core technologies.

Industry problem The industry problem is to be able to comply with the mandates and legislature and regulatory demands for a distracted driver while maintaining : • dispatch functions • communication between base and driver • safety announcements • customer service such as lost a found • changing of destinations and routs • reaching to riding passenger and • more efficient use of equipment by assessing when vehicles are available for upcoming dispatch

What’s the reality today? • Regulators passed the legislation prohibiting the use of handheld devices as well as hands-free Blue Tooth solutions • example is the NYC TLC regulations were the use of a hands-free devices are prohibited while the vehicle is in operation • Although the industry worked with the TLC and was able to get a fine line comprise by having the hand-held devices mounted, this falls short of a practical and a real solution that maintains the drivers eye on the road and hands on the wheel
