Components of a Strategic Plan • Vision – An ideal, credible, attractive, and unique future image for an organization. • Mission – A general statement of the fundamental purpose of an organization and the foundation for developing the organizational goals and objectives. • Goals – A broad statement that describes ultimate ends and achievements for an organization.

Annual Planning Ties to Strategic Plan Annual planning goals developed at leadership retreat (involves staff, faculty, and administrative leaders) Used to guide annual plan activity development Annual planning goals are one of scoring criteria
Setting Scoring Criteria Criteria value priorities set by college Ensure submissions are strategic in nature • Not operational Criteria had to be communicated and treat divisions fairly • Ran activity scoring simulation One-time funding only, no ongoing allocations Activity cost not considered in prioritization
Funding Allocation & Next Steps Planning & Resources Council (P&RC) reviews & recommends funding based on available budget Unfunded activities sent to Resource Development Committee (for possible referral to other funding sources) Funded activities must present outcomes to college (ROI) at end of cycle
