  4. New Media - Peer-based Learning • Skills -Cultural norms of online interaction • Shared participation - a sense of membership and identity • Self-motivated learners - communicate with people engaged in the same interests

  5. New Media – Teacher Responsibilities • Accept -New Media as a point for leaning, discovery , and interest- based pursuits • Understand – the Internet is their space to be with friends • Mentor and guide teens - chatting or posting pictures online
