How To Pick Math Course • Look at the topics: Which ones interest you? • Talk to your teacher: Which course(s) can you succeed in? • Talk to your counsellor: Do your career goals and math interests/aptitude match up? Discuss how you can change paths in university so you don’t need to leave every door open now. • Talk to your parent: Discuss how to meet the grad requirement for Math 11 and university entrance requirements without torturing yourself.

SummaryPSI’s GENERAL REQUIREMENTS • Some have a Math requirement (same testing and upgrading options as for English requirement) • Some require a 2nd Lang 11 • Some require Eng 12 and 3 approved Gr 12 courses • Some require other specific courses (with or without a specific grade) • All have an English language requirement • A specific grade in Eng 12 or Com 12 might be good enough, or • Write a test at the PSI (or the LPI), might be good enough, or • Take an upgrading course that they recommend

Flexibility • Prerequisites may be available at the institution • College/universities are a place to EXPLORE • Don’t need to keep every door open in high school • It’s Okay to change direction Prerequisites tell you something about the course and the career. If you dislike the prerequisite, you might want to reconsider your choice.

  33. More Flexibility • Apply for Bachelor of Arts  take Science courses • Apply for Bachelor of Science  take Business courses • Apply for Business  take Arts courses • Apply for General Studies, and decide later (an easy choice!) • Don’t put off applying just because you can’t decide EXPLORE
