  3. IEC Technical Committee TC 31 • Standards used in the IECEx Scheme prepared by: • IEC Technical Committee TC 31 -Equipment for explosive atmospheres

  4. Technical Committee Scope • To prepare and maintain international standards relating to equipment for use where there is a hazard due to the possible presence of explosive atmospheres of gases, vapours, mists or combustible dusts.

  5. Some major changes occurring • Combining gas and dust • Revision and combination of 60079-12, -20 & -1.1 on data for Ex • Equipment protection levels (EPLs) • Bringing all standards into 60079 series
