Known issues to be prioritized and elaborated • To identify technical issues with establishing grid nodes (installation and configuration issues.) • Versioning with different instances of caBIG apps. • Security patching of open source components • Authorization and authentication and DSSF • Internal and external grid nodes

  3. Role of grid node in adoption activities • Most applications work standalone inside firewalls without the grid’s existence. • Multiple applications inside the firewall require the grid node to talk to one another (will that change with COPAA?) • NCI instances of applications (caARRAY) do not require caGRID • Will changes required to make grid nodes more usable require complete re-installation?

  4. Questions • Is the current focus on grid node deployment justified? • Is Setup documentation sufficient and flexible enough to account for varying security requirements? • Is ongoing security patching addressed? • Do individual applications coordinate required grid node versions?
