  6. Recruitment Process • Obtain Quantitative Data • Terra Nova (stanines 5-9 in reading, language arts and math)or state test scores (average to high) • GPA (2.0-3.5)

  14. Lessons Learned • Don’t try to “save” students with behavior and attendance problems. • Don’t let students be simply placed into the AVID class. • Don’t let parents pressure the coordinator, counselors, or administrator to accept students into the program.
