What Foods Were Rationed? • These are a few of the foods rationed: • Meat • Fish • Cheese • Tinned Tomatoes • Rice • Jam • Tea • Eggs • Canned Fruit • Biscuits • Breakfast Cereals • Milk • Dried Fruit • Cooking Fat
How much food did people get? • Per week adults got: • 50g of butter • 225g of Sugar • 50g of Cheese • 450g of Jam (every two months) • 100g of Bacon and Ham • Meat (to the value of1s . 2d = 6p a week) • 1 fresh hen’s egg a week • 1 packet of dried eggs a month • 100g of margarine • 3 pints of milk • 50g of tea • 75g of sweets
Clothes Rationing • In WWII you only got 60 clothes coupons a year! • Children got an extra ten coupons for growing out of their clothes
