Replacement Educational Programs and Operations Levy • Comprises 18% of the district’s total general fund revenue • Cannot exceed 28% of our total state and federal revenues • Provides funding for: • Classroom teachers and instructional aides • Nurses, counselors, librarians, staff • Classes for high-achieving students • Programs to bring students up to grade level • Programs for students with special needs • Arts, music, and athletics, extracurricular programs

Impacts to Date • Larger elementary class sizes (78% increase in the number of K-6 classrooms exceeding class size limits) • Reductions in elementary and middle school counselors • Reductions in student transportation and classroom support • Elimination of extended day Kindergarten • Elimination of Mountain School • Elimination of elementary sports

Future Impacts $2,300,000 in reductions (estimated) for 2012-13 will likely result in: • Additional increases in class size • Reduction in highly capable and intervention programs • More reductions in support services such as counseling and nursing • Reduction in extra-curricular offerings – clubs and sports
