MLK Jr. • Civil Right leader • Clergyman • He led the Montgomery Bus Boycott that lasted more than one year. • He organized the March on Washington. • He received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964 for fighting racial inequality through nonviolence. • One of the greatest orators (speakers) in American history.
MLK Jr. • His speech led to the Civil Rights Act of 1964. • He was assassinated April 4, 1968 in Memphis by James Earl Ray.
‘I Have a Dream’ • Listen to “I Have a Dream” • Write down three things you notice from the speech. • Also tell me why he was/was not a good speaker.
