  1. Camp Kaitawa By Jared Duncan

  2. I’m nervous, I’m nervous, lord please help me! So, are you wondering why I’m nervous? It was cold, miserable weather and to make it worse we were going to Camp Kaitawa! All us year 6’s were gathered in the hall. We were all chatting when Mr Crawford said “ Ok listen up everybody” Silence filled the room. Finally we were in our cars and off to camp. I wasn’t nervous anymore, I was with my friends. We talked about all the exciting things we were going to do like climbing enormous mountains, slipping through slimy mud, walking beautiful bush walks, delicious food cooked by ourselves and showing off our talent. What a fun packed week we had ahead of us.

  3. Walking for 6hours, 1050m above sea level, have you tried it? I have! It was called Ngamoko. Up hill, down hill, left, right what way were we going next? We had so much fun together, talking well keeping a steady pace as well. The walk, surprisingly wasn’t that hard. I thought going up hill would be harder than going down hill. I was wrong. My feet were aching. To make the walk feel shorter Mr Crawford played a game with us called famous names. I did ok but not as well as Mr Crawford. At the end of the walk I felt like I had just climbed Mt Everest. Finally we got to lie down on our bunks ( Relaxation). Devilled Sausages they were delicious! That’s what we had for dinner that night. THANKS RO!!!

  4. “ Aaagghh” Good morning. I was ready for another big day. In the morning after I had breakfast and packed our day packs we drove to the Redoubt. During the walk we saw a rock prison. Criminals stayed there. Guards guarded the rock to make sure the prisoners didn’t escape. After we finished the walk we went caving. It was really fun. We had to climb down a big ladder and then climbed up through a huge rock. Near the top of the rock I grazed my knee. A part from grazing my knee it was really fun. For dinner we had Ham burgers, they were a lot nicer than the Devilled Sausages ( No offence Ro!)

  5. For a hot breakfast on Thursday we had Sausages, toast, Spaghetti or Baked Beans and a Hash Browns. Yum yum!!! Waterfall time. The waterfalls were amazing! I really liked how when the water came down the waterfall it was white. For dinner in groups we cooked Nachos, Spaghetti Bol or Buritos over a campfire by ourselves. My group made Nachos. They were yum. We had chocolate self saucing pudding for pudding. I loved it.

  6. It’s time to go home. We tidied our dorms, packed our bags and left for home. We stopped in Wairoa and got hot chips for lunch. We made another stop at the Tutira Dairy. Each one of us got a ice-block. I got a cola one. We hit the road again, nearly home!!! We got to the school gate, we were all excited, FINALLY, we were home.
