Digital Repositories:The Call for Proposals • Phase One (of two): 2005-2006, ~£4m • Materials: research papers, research data, learning materials, technical reports • Repositories: highly managed repositories – personal / peer2peer approaches • Strong link into institutional strategies, corporate systems and practices
Objectives • community needs; • cultural and practical issues affecting the implementation and usage of IRs; • repository specifications, software and tools; • a common national repository service infrastructure; • repository functional components / frameworks; • guidelines and exemplars.
User requirements / use cases Metadata standards Metadata quality Persistent identifiers Version control Quality assurance Provenance Legal issues Priority areas
